06. Stent Implantation
The balloon and stent is inserted into the guiding catheter and moved to the infected area.
The balloon is inflated, causing the stent to expand and compressing the plaque against the artery wall while conforming to the contours of the artery.
Once the stent has been sufficiently expanded, the balloon is deflated and removed leaving the stent permanently in place to hold the artery open.
